Running with the Big Dogs at Noah’s Ark

I’ve been corresponding with a guy named Steve Kent recently.   He’s been using the Runner’s Choice Hands-Free leash when exercising dogs at the Noah’s Ark Animal Welfare Association, the only animal shelter Las Animas County, Colorado.   According to Steve, many of the 600+ dogs that came through Noah’s Ark in 2012  were not leash trained.   Having the belt, plus handles, and the bungees made handling difficult dogs, like a 95 pound Rottweiler that came through the shelter, less difficult.  In Steve’s spare time, he runs with his two sweet pit-mixes (Koapono and Ihu’alani) using irondoggy’s two-dog leash.

The folks at Noah’s Ark attempt to adopt or transfer every healthy, adoptable animal that comes through their shelter.  That, however, is not all that they do.  In order to decrease the number of unwanted pets in the Trinidad and Las Animas County area, they are working towards a goal of having 75-80% of the animals in the county spayed or neutered.   They’ve partnered with the Department of Human Services to make pet food affordable to low-income families with the Pet Pantry program, and they operate a Humane Education Program to educate the community on animal care issues.

It sounds like Noah’s Ark is providing an invaluable service to the folks in southern Colorado.   That’s why, between now and the end of the year, we’re donating 100% of the profits from our dog collar sales to this awesome organization.    Does your dog already have a styling collar?    Don’t let that stop you, you can donate to Noah’s Ark directly on their website.
